Off and running, after some delay.

After much deliberation, I've decided to chronicle my life's misadventures. I was offered a job in Charlotte, NC and have moved down there from Long Island knowing nobody but my father. I figured this blog would be kind of a journal that will let anyone who cares to follow it, see how things are progessing.

After breaking bones my face, spending a few days in the hospital, and a week in bed, I had to put my moving plans on hold. The original Labor Day weekend move was postponed and finally took place yesterday.

Packing the car with my brother was a bad choice. Trying to fit 23 years worth of belongings into a Honda Civic is never a good idea. After tossing in one box, and one bag of clothes, it was clear that everything else had to go in as is, no boxes, bags, rationale. My brother was jamming DVD cases into every crack he could find. The only place that wasn't occupied with my belongings was the spare tire well. There were books, golf clubs, pictures, guitar hero guitars, computer parts, movies, clothes, weights and CDs all over the car. If I had some foresight, I would have unpacked the camera to take some pictures of the car.

The arduous 12 hour drive was probably the most uneventful time of my life. The best thing I passed on the east coast was the Phillip Morris building in Virginia that had a huge totem pole outside, with their brands smeared on it.

I spent Saturday night unpacking and Sunday mostly just watching football. So far, pretty much nothing has gone wrong, not that I've done anything that I could mess up yet. I start work tomorrow morning and have to prepare my lines to explain why the right side of my face is black and blue, and partially that gross yellow, purplish color. I may go with the classic, "You should see the other guy." line.

Well, I guess back to some more football for now.
